The scenery at this venue in Yulee, Florida, is absolutely breathtaking. The chilly January morning air greeted me as I arrived at the venue, but I was glad to see the blue sky. The weather had been unpredictable for the few days leading up to Macie and Charles’ wedding and extremely cold (40 degrees in Florida is freezing!), but it ended up being the most gorgeous day! Even though it was pretty frigid outside, this couple made the best of their wedding day.
Firstly, I want to touch on how incredible the views are at Latyn’s Land-n. The charming wooden barn, winding stone paths through the garden, ponds, white picket fences, and the giant, wispy trees around the property make for the most amazing background. Talk about “southern charm!”
These women look stunning in their getting ready photos. Macie chose to wear an embroidered button down for her getting-ready outfit, and it was so adorable! The bridal party praying with one another is a precious moment that I got on camera. Having the support of friends and family on your special day is so important.
Now, if you have read my previous blogs, you know that my goal is to direct you into the most natural looking candid pose, while still maintaining that picture-perfect smile. In the pictures above, I asked Macie to look at the woman that was her favorite. Of course, Macie could not choose just one girl to look at, so she just laughed and looked at me instead! The girls laughed at her reaction, and it created a great picture of the entire bridal party.
The smiles of these women are contagious! I loved getting to capture their friendship and bonds with one another. The pink bridesmaid dresses, nude-colored heels, and simple jewelry choices created a soft, elegant look for the bridal party. Macie looks so happy to be surrounded by her closest friends and family.
Special moments with mom on your wedding day cannot go unphotographed. Macie’s mother is glimmering in her champagne sequin dress. Macie’s mother had the special duty of zipping up and adjusting her wedding gown…a sweet, intimate moment between mother and daughter that will not be forgotten! You can see Macie’s mom shining with pride and joy for her daughter.
Macie chose pearls as her jewelry and details. They look so elegant draped across her wrist and neck, and are even dotted all over her veil. Adding a little detail to your veil can go a long way and complete your bridal look.
Macie’s sisters look so happy for her in this photo. I loved capturing the beauty of all four of these women throughout the day!
Look at how elegant these bridal portraits are. I love the soft smile, glowing makeup, and shining pearls on Macie! Her satin gown by David’s Bridal looks gorgeous against the green couch, and the train is draped so lovely across the floor. Sultry, classy, and downright gorgeous!
Macie and Charles chose a pastel color palette of blush pink, sage green, and accents of gold chrome. Their invitation from Zazzle tied beautifully into the color scheme, and these detail shots show how well the colors coordinated with each other. Of course, I had to get a close-up shot of the engagement ring and other jewelry being worn by the bride…everything looks so shiny!
Capturing every little detail of your wedding day is important. Little things that usually go unnoticed…the earrings, stationery, and specific flower choices need to be appreciated! Flatlays are a great way to display all of the details in an artistic way. Your wedding colors and theme deserve to become Pinterest-ready inspiration for the next bride.
These gorgeous pink satin shoes from David’s Bridal really tie the entire look together, especially the pearl detail on the ankle cuffs!
We all know the popular trend of doing a first look with the bride and groom before the wedding ceremony, but what about a first look with dad instead? This precious moment shared between the father of the bride and his daughter will forever be remembered with these photographs!
These photos are getting me emotional! I love when brides take a trend and make it their own. Sharing the first look moment with your father could create one of the most memorable and important memories from your wedding.
Latyn’s Land-n provides a great selection of scenery for photo opportunities. I knew this was the perfect place to take a few bridal portraits, and Macie looks incredible in them! First, I had to photograph the actual background itself. How beautiful are these red flowers?
Macie’s florist, Tammy Woodcock at Parker’s Events, did a fantastic job with her bridal bouquet. The greenery gives it a very full, luscious effect, and the ivory roses are so romantic!
Macie’s bridal look was created by her hairstylist and makeup artist, Jordan Burdetsky. I loved the elegant, effortless glam look with an up-do on Macie!
One thing you would never guess about these portraits is that Macie was so cold. She braved through the chilly air and modeled perfectly for her portraits, despite being freezing! One thing Macie was most excited about for her wedding day was walking down the aisle with her father and finally seeing her groom up at the altar. What an amazing moment to look forward to!
Most people attribute weddings to being more about the bride…but the groom is just as involved and important on this special day! Capturing portraits of the groom and moments with his mother will be memories that the two of them cherish forever.
This ceremony oak tree is so beautiful. Macie and Charles were supposed to get married underneath the ceremony tree, but it was just too frigid outside to make it work! Luckily, this couple was flexible and hopeful about the ceremony being held in the reception hall instead. Keep reading to see pictures from their romantic ceremony!
Look at how precious this moment is between mother and son! Charles is dressed up in a blue suit and yellow tie styled by Jos A. Bank. His mother is pinning on a handsome ivory boutonniere. I love capturing her sweet smile!
Charles was most looking forward to being announced as husband and wife after their ceremony. After so much anticipation about that moment, Charles was so excited for it to finally happen! He was also very happy to spend time with his friends and family over such a joyous occasion.
I love getting magazine-worthy portraits of the groom. Of course we have to appreciate Charles being all dressed up and dapper as ever! The color scheme of his suit looks amazing against the scenery in the background.
This wedding party was such a fun group to photograph! They all looked absolutely stunning on this day, and the color scheme looks great together. This couple’s family and friends are so supportive and proud of them…which you can definitely tell by these photographs.
The candid photos of this wedding party are so cute! Getting everyone into their natural element does take a few tries (and some silly posing suggestions) but it always ends up looking great. You can see the love between this group of family and friends, and their smiles are so contagious!
Something unique that Macie and Charles decided to do was dress Charles in a lighter blue suit than the rest of the groomsmen. This not only adds depth to the color palette, but makes who the groom is very obvious in the pictures, which I think is great!
How sweet is this flower girl and ring bearer? Little man looks so excited to be a part of this big day, and is adorable in the pink suspenders and bowtie. The flower girl is wearing a white tulle dress with a jean jacket to bring in the blues from the groom’s side.
Getting close-ups of the floral arrangements in this wedding was a must. The ivory and blush roses, greenery, and baby’s breath give the bouquets such a soft, romantic feel, and compliments the color scheme of the bridal party perfectly!
These women are so beautiful and look so happy to be there. The hues of blush pink, white, and tan pop against the background.
I had to get some photos of the bride and her sisters, which turned out so cute. The friendship and bond between these ladies is something so special, and I am so fortunate that I got to capture it.
I can’t wait to tell you more about this sweet couple’s relationship. Macie and Charles are both nurses at Baptist Medical Center, and met each other through a mutual friend. Charles finally asked Macie out on a date, and the rest is history!
Charles proposed on the river walk in front of the Mainstreet Bridge in Downtown Jacksonville. This is a family tradition in Charles’ family, since his father and grandfather both proposed to their wives in the very same spot! How romantic is that?
This couple was a bundle of nerves after the wedding rehearsal the night before. There was so much anticipation about the next day and unknowns with the temperature and rain. After their rehearsal, these two went on a long drive and talked it all out with each other. They came back feeling much more excited and hopeful!
Macie’s favorite moment of the day ended up being when they were announced as husband and wife after the ceremony. Charles said that his favorite moment was the private first look they had together. What an intimate moment between the two of them!
Charles and Macie’s relationship is even stronger due to their sharing of beliefs and values. They also have very similar senses of humor and love to have fun together, regardless of what they’re doing. At the beginning of their relationship, they bonded over both being nurses and the experiences they’ve had in their career. That unexpected initial spark blossomed into a beautiful love story!
The wedding portrait below belongs above a mantle! These two are incredible models.
The reception hall at Latyn’s Land-n was decorated with white drapery, sparkling chandeliers, and gold details. Due to the cold temperatures, the couple ended up having their ceremony inside, as well as the reception. Their coordinator, Jennifer McCarthy, pulled everything together and created a beautiful space for both the ceremony and reception.
The seating chart above looks so classy and elegant. What makes it even more special is that Macie’s father actually handwrote the cards! What an incredible talent.
The big moment is finally here! I love getting both angles of the ceremony, so families have all of the important moments captured of everyone. Getting the groom’s reaction to his bride walking down the aisle always makes for a sweet, emotional photo. Macie walked down the aisle to a rendition of “Rewrite the Stars” by The Piano Guys.
Their officiant, Marcus McGill, led the ceremony and participated in a beautiful visual representation of Macie and Charles’ faith and their love for one another. There are so many different elements that you can include (religious or nonreligious) to make your ceremony more personal to you, and I love seeing what couples choose!
Macie and Charles are now husband and wife. Capturing the moment where two become one is so special, and this kiss is everything!
After the ceremony, Macie and Charles had their first dance as husband and wife. They danced to “My Side of the Fence” by Dan & Shay. The chandeliers hanging over the dance floor is such a beautiful element of the reception décor!
The father-daughter and mother-son dances are always so bittersweet. I love the embrace Macie and her dad are sharing after the dance is over!
Afterwards, the newlyweds and their guests got to enjoy a delicious meal catered by Country Caterers BBQ.
After dinner, I got to show Macie and Charles a same-night preview of a few of their wedding photos! The look on their faces (and their guests) is exactly why I do what I do. This gallery is absolutely breathtaking, and it was such a fun surprise to show them a few pictures before the night was over.
As you can tell by the man wearing a tie around his head, it was finally time for a dance party! These wedding guests sure knew how to get down when it came to the dance floor. I caught several guests mid-dance move, which made for a great picture.
Macie and Charles look SO happy. Their DJ, Footloose Entertainment, was able to get the party started and fill the room with an amazing energy.
Macie’s grandmother took over as a second-shooter as I captured the rest of the guests on the dance floor. She made sure to get all the right angles of everyone having fun!
The light effects in the photos on the right make the pictures feel dynamic and exciting. I feel like I can imagine exactly what it looks and sounds like all over again.
These two families are now conjoined through Macie and Charles, and they should be so proud! Charles’ parents on the left and Macie’s parents on the right look stunning in their attire and both couples are so lovely.
I had the best time photographing this wedding and all of the sweet individuals in it! Congratulations, Macie and Charles!
